Star anise essential oil, obtained by steam distillation from star anise (Illicium verum), has a distinctive and easily recognisable anise aroma. The oil can be used to add fragrance to baths, massage blends and sauna water.
Directions for use
- For scented baths: use 5–9 drops per 100 litres of water. As essential oil does not dissolve in water, mix it with a suitable bath product before adding it to the bath.
- For massage: add 1–2 drops of star anise essential oil to 20 g of carrier oil and mix thoroughly. Use on the skin only when diluted.
- For sauna use: add 15 drops to 10 litres of water used for soaking sauna whisks and mix thoroughly. The anise aroma will gradually spread throughout the sauna.
Important: do not pour undiluted essential oil directly onto hot sauna stones or heating elements. Read the product label before use and follow the dosage and safety instructions provided.
