Every mechanical thermometer or hygrometer should be adjusted before use. To calibrate a hygrometer, wrap it in a wet towel, leave it for about half an hour, and then use the adjustment screw to set the pointer to 100%. A mechanical thermometer is also adjusted with a screw, while the most exact temperature can be checked using an electronic device. This makes it easier to maintain an accurate sauna hygrometer reading.
