Test tablets for the determination of chlorine and bromine in water. 1 leaflet contains 10 tablets.

To measure the chlorine and bromine content of the pool water with a photometer.

DPD is an abbreviation for diethyl-p-phenylenediamine (dimethyl-p-phenylenediamine) and is a derivative of p-phenylenediamine. DPD tablets react with pool water containing chlorine or bromine, making the water sample a variety of shades of red. The higher the concentration of chlorine or bromine, the richer the red color. DPD replaced orthotoluidine because the latter was recognized as a carcinogen.

DPD no. 1 tablet is used to measure the amount of chlorine or bromine, hypochlorites or hypobromites.

Warning

DPD no. 1 photometer tablet with black text on the blister is for use only with the electronic photometer or electronic photometer 287300 - water tester and is not intended for use in visual detection testers.

For testers with visual adjustment (by color scale), use DPD no. 1 Rapid water tester and Phenol Red Rapid tablets with green text on the blister.

Application

Free chlorine and pH values should be checked at least weekly.

General sequence of steps for measuring chlorine and pH with a photometer according to the photometer instructions:

Switch on the instrument, fill the sample container from a distance of 0.5 m and a depth of 5 to 10 cm and reset the readings to zero.
Fill the test vessel with water to the mark. Water should be taken at a distance of half a meter from the edge of the pool from a depth of 5-10 cm.
Select the desired measurement mode (chlorine, pH, etc.), then enter DPD no. 1 tablet directly from the pack into the photometer without touching it with your hands, then crush the tablet and dissolve completely.
Wait for the analysis to complete (waiting times may vary by test type).
To find out the values of the indicators, visually compare the color of the liquid with the color scale.

If the chlorine level is less than 0.3, chlorine should be added to the pool to make sure the level does not exceed 0.6.

If the pH is greater than 7.4, add a minus pH, and if the pH is less than 7.0, add a positive plus.

Never use DPD no. 1 tablet by mouth;
Keep out of the reach of children;
When placing the tablets in the tester, do not touch them with your fingers - you must place the tablets directly from the blister;

Storage recommendations

The tablets should be stored in a cool, dry place in the original manufacturer's packaging, away from acids and alkalis, to prevent damage to the packaging. Protect from cold, heat and sunlight.

Shelf life - 10 years from the date of manufacture.
