The Harvia S2 power extension unit is designed to increase the maximum switching load of a compatible sauna control unit. It is used in systems where the output of the electric sauna heater exceeds the load that can be switched directly by the control unit.
The power extension unit incorporates two contactors that switch the mains voltage supplied to the heating system. The appropriate model must be selected according to the heater output, control unit and electrical connection configuration.
Three versions are available: S2-18 and S2-18S provide up to 9 kW of additional switching capacity, while S2-30 provides up to 21 kW. S2-18S is the low-noise version of the S2-18.
The units are designed for a 400 V 3N~ electrical supply and have an IPX4 protection rating. According to the manufacturer’s instructions, the unit must be installed outside the sauna cabin, in a location protected from additional heat sources. Electrical installation must be carried out by a qualified professional in accordance with the wiring diagram of the selected sauna control unit and heater.
