Soapstone sauna heater stones, 20 kg

Soapstone is a natural rock composed mainly of talc and magnesite. These stones are intended for use in compatible sauna heaters in accordance with the instructions provided for the specific heater model.

When heated, the stones store heat and are used to produce steam when water is poured over them. Natural soapstone is available in various grey and slightly greenish shades, so the colour, surface and shape of individual stones may vary.

The stones are available in two size ranges: 5–10 cm and 10–15 cm. The appropriate stone size and required quantity must be selected according to the sauna heater instructions. Stones of an unsuitable size or stones packed too tightly may restrict airflow and affect heater operation.

Before first use, rinse the stones with clean water to remove dust and allow them to dry. Place the stones into the heater individually, taking care not to damage the heating elements and leaving the airflow spaces required by the heater manufacturer.

The condition of the stones should be checked regularly. Replace stones that are cracked, broken or beginning to crumble. The arrangement and condition of the stones should be inspected at least once a year and more frequently in saunas that are used intensively.

Care of sauna stones

It is important to remember that all the stones in the sauna require proper care to ensure the quality of the heater:

• They should be removed once a year and rinsed thoroughly with clean water.
• Cracked and broken stones should be replaced with new ones.
