The uniqueness of the Turkish bath
A real Turkish bath is different from a Russian or Finnish bath. First of all, the room is round and the beds are marble. In addition, tiles are used for decoration in a Turkish bath, and wood is used for saunas, for example. The Turkish bath has 100% humidity, and the room temperature is only 40-50 C, while in other saunas it is much higher. In such a room it is easiest to extract light steam. The interior of public Turkish baths is decorated with a colored glass mosaic that shines in all the colors of the rainbow and attracts the eyes of visitors. A real Turkish bath consists of three rooms: a relaxation room, a changing room and a steam room. It is necessary to go through all of them, and this whole process has a certain ritual:
• First room. To visit the sauna, you will first be directed to the first room ("soğukluk" in Turkish). In this room, the body will get used to the heat. Here, guests relax after taking a bath, drink tea, and socialize. It is a spacious room with a temperature of about 20 degrees. At the entrance, the employee gives a towel, a bathing suit, and special slippers. Interestingly, Turkish baths use special towels, which are large and bright towels that are tied around the chest and cover most of the body.
• Second room. This is an intermediate room. Stone beds are arranged here. In this room you need to get really hot and sweat. After this room you go to the steam room.
• The third room is the sauna itself (called hammam in Turkish). The entire interior of this room is made of marble, as well as all the equipment: benches, faucets, beds, etc. This chamber is spacious, usually round or square in shape. The heater in this room, located below, continuously heats the marble surface. When a person comes to this room, he relaxes his whole body and muscles. The stone provides pleasant warmth to the body, warms and induces sleep, while the soft light relaxes the eyes. After 20-40 minutes of relaxation, the visitor sends a signal to the employee about readiness for procedures: foam massage and various wraps with oils. But the massage is quite aggressive, the masseuse works every muscle with strong fingers. A natural hard fiber glove is also used to remove all dirt and old skin cells.
A Turkish bath is also called a steam bath, because in them steam rises through special openings, and the marble in the room is heated to a temperature of 40-50 C.
Installation of a Turkish bath
Due to its growing popularity, more and more people want to install a Turkish bath. This is a unique sauna in its design and bathing ritual. Such a sauna can be installed in your own house or in a separate sauna house. Order of installation of the Turkish bath:
• First of all, you need to make the walls and ceiling of the steam room, it is recommended to use extruded foam and immediately make the benches. In addition, the benches must be made of moisture-resistant material.
• A steam supply container is installed, as well as openings through which air can enter and exit. For a small sauna, air extraction and supply is not as necessary as for large ones. In a small sauna, it is enough to open the door and everything is aired out.
• If it is planned that the beds in the steam room will be heated by electricity or water, then grooves are made for installing heated elements.
• Then the initial decoration is done: walls and ceilings are leveled, ventilation, lighting, steam systems are installed.
• Finishing is carried out inside and, if desired, outside. The walls of the steam room are lined with mosaic. If you want to make the highest quality finish, it is recommended to fix a special mosaic, but it will definitely cost a lot. But if you just want a beautiful view, less costs and faster work, you can fix simple bathroom tiles. However, they will not be as effective as special measures. A gap of 3-5 cm should be left between the walls of the room and the steam room, and the ceiling should be curved. This is necessary so that the formed condensate runs through the walls and does not drip on people.
• It is important to plan the place where you intend to install the steam room equipment. The steam generator can be allocated a small room or simply hidden in a closet. The dimensions of the steam generator depend on the manufacturer. It is necessary to think about the fact that it is necessary to consider that water, electricity and sewage will have to be brought to the generator. Steam generators come in many types and models. Some of the best manufacturers are: Harvia, Pego, Tylo and a few others. They produce high-quality steam generators that often save electricity and are durable.
Another, probably the cheapest and easiest way to install a Turkish bath is to simply buy an acrylic cabin. Its installation is quick, the cabin is easy to clean and maintain, and it is also hygienic.
When preparing a small Turkish bath, it is necessary to provide approximately 6-9 kW of electrical power and a three-phase connection to the steam generator. And if you plan to install a larger Turkish bath, you may need more powerful electricity.
The correct installation of the Turkish bath determines the quality of the steam. Therefore, in order to have a long-lasting and high-quality sauna, it is best to entrust the construction work to specialists in this field. They have many years of experience, knowledge, work quickly, professionally and with high quality. Therefore, you will save your time and soon you will be able to enjoy your beautiful sauna.
